The Timberwolves Win Six Straight

The Minnesota Timberwolves are off to an excellent start. They are 7-2, putting them 3rd in the West, and are currently on a 6-game winning streak. The Wolves will face the 4-6 Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. Injuries have limited the Suns early in the season. Bradley Beal and Eric Gordon are game time decisions for Wednesday, but the good news is Devin Booker is expected to make his return against Minnesota. Booker has only played 2 games so far, but in those 2 games the 3x All-Star put up 30+ points in each. Despite Booker’s return, Minnesota will likely be favored in this one. 

I’m going with the Timberwolves here. Minnesota is averaging 112.8 points and allowing 103.1, giving the Wolves the best point differential in the West. The Suns are hard to beat with both Kevin Durant (30.0 PPG) and Devin Booker (31.5 PPG) on the floor, but the Timberwolves are well-rounded enough to get it done. Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards leads the scoring with 28.4 PPG, while big men Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert defend the rim and gobble up rebounds. The Timberwolves are the real deal. They’ve beaten several quality opponents already, including: Boston, Denver, Miami, and Golden State, and tomorrow night Minnesota will add Phoenix to that list.
