The Thunder are a Top-Tier Team
The Oklahoma City Thunder are no longer a budding talent, they are the real deal. At 13-6, the Thunder are 2nd in the West, but lead the conference in scoring, averaging 119.7 points per game. OKC went 8-2 in their last 10, and are coming off back-to-back wins against quality opponents. The Thunder have had a 3-day rest period, and will be nice and fresh for tomorrow’s matchup against the Houston Rockets. Houston is 8-9, but after a string of losses, they are 10th in the West. The Rockets are a much improved team compared to last year, but Houston went 4-6 in their last 10 and are coming off 3-straight losses.
The Rockets will be happy to be back home, but I’m going with the OKC Thunder in this one. OKC is 8-2 as favorites this season, while the Rockets are 5-9 as underdogs. Houston has a great home record at 8-1, but the Thunder are 7-2 on the road, taking away Houston’s biggest advantage. OKC’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is having an MVP level season, and the addition of 7-footer Chet Holmgren has pushed the team to another level. The Thunder are a well-rounded, well coached squad, and they’ll hand the Houston Rockets a rare home loss tomorrow night.
So for our Thunder vs. Rockets expert pick, take the OKC Thunder on Wednesday.
