The Suns are on fire at the moment. A lot of people wrote them off after they slumped for a long time. They started the season at the top of the West just like last year but they fell off as Devin Booker and Chris Paul got hurt. They are now red hot though. They have gotten hot at the right time as Devin Booker made his return last night in a 116-112 win over the Nets in Brooklyn last night. Deandre Ayton led the way with a ridiculous 35 points and 15 rebounds. They have now won nine of their last eleven games over and sit at 30-26 on the season. They probably don’t have a chance at the top seed in the West like they have been the last two seasons but they are just 1.5 games back of the three seeded Kings.
The Hawks have now dropped two games in a row. They got crushed by the best team in the West in the Nuggets 128-108 two games ago and then last night they lost to the Pelicans 116-107. They are 27-28 on the season. They have been pretty disappointing this season as they had high aspirations after trading for Dejounte Murray this season. Both of them are averaging 20+ points on the season but it has just not translated to wins for this team. They are just 4-6 in their last ten games. They need to figure it out soon if they want to make some noise in the playoffs and avoid the Play In games.
I love the Suns in this one. I know they are on the fourth game of a five game road trip but they just got Devin Booker back and are playing great. Booker put up 19 points in his first game back and should get back to his 27 points per game self soon. Not only have the Suns won nine of their last eleven games but they have also covered in eight of their last ten games. They are getting back to their normal selves and should destroy this Hawks team that is continuing to underachieve. They have lost their last two games by a combined 29 points and were not even close to covering the spreads. The Hawks and the Suns will face off here and I think the Suns are the better team and take care of business.
