The Nets and the Clippers will face off in Brooklyn tomorrow night. The storyline dominating this game is that Kyrie Irving has just been traded by the Nets after they could not reach a contract extension agreement with him. This brought back two quality players in Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney Smith. We’ll see how they mesh with this Nets team who is still missing Kevin Durant but is still fourth in the East at 32-20.
The Clippers were in the running for Kyrie Irving but ultimately could not pull the trigger in the end. They have been playing great basketball as of late as they are 7-3 in their last ten games. They are playing some of their basketball of the season and they are now the four seed in the West with a 30-26 record. They are coming off of a big win over the Knicks in the Garden where Paul George and Kawhi Leonard combined for 65 points on over 50% shooting from the field.
I like the Clippers to cover pretty easily here. The Nets were probably rocked by this trade as a team and we still don’t know if Dinwiddie and Finney-Smith are going to play in this game. If they do it’ll take some time for them to get used to this team and if they don’t the Nets are going to be really undermanned. I don’t see them being very competitive here. Take LA here.
