The NBA Heads to Mexico City

Tomorrow night the NBA will be down in Mexico City for its 32nd all-time game in Mexico, where we will see the Atlanta Hawks taking on the Orlando Magic. Atlanta is favored by just 2.5 points, as this is expected to be a tightly contested matchup. Both sides are 4-3 and are hoping to stay above .500, but they’re also looking to put on a show for the fans of Mexico City, meaning neither side will want to lose on the international stage.

In what will be a close game, I’m going with the favorites and putting my money on the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks offense far outmatches the Magic’s. Atlanta is averaging 122.0 points per game, while Orlando is putting up just 108.6 points per game. The Magic have the advantage on defense, but with starting PG Markelle Fultz AND starting Center Wendell Carter Jr. both Out for Thursday’s matchup, Orlando will struggle to stop Atlanta’s fantastic front court.

Hawks PG Trae Young and SG Dejounte Murray are combining for 44.3 points and 16.5 assists per game. Including Young and Murray, Atlanta has 8 players averaging 10+ points, while the Magic don’t have a single player who’s averaging 20+ per game. The Hawks dynamic offense gives them the edge in this one, and Atlanta will beat the Magic in Mexico City.

So for our Hawks vs. Magic expert pick, take the Atlanta Hawks Moneyline (-135) on Thursday night.
