Heat vs. Raptors
The Miami Heat will travel to the Scotiabank Arena to face the Toronto Raptors in a Eastern Conference matchup (7:30 p.m. ET, TNT). The Heat need a bounce back win after the Brooklyn Nets snapped their two-game winning streak on Saturday night beating Miami 129-100. The Heat will look to get right in primetime when they travel to Toronto. Meanwhile, the Raptors are currently on a two-game winning streak and are looking to add to it in this game. On Sunday night Toronto defeated the Washington Wizards 114-104. The Raptors have now won three of their last five games.
Miami Heat Basketball
With a 40-35 record on the season and a 21-25 record in conference play, the Heat are in seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. Miami has been shaky recently with a 6-4 record in their last ten games. Miami is currently in the Playoff play-in game as they are tied neck and neck with the Brooklyn Nets. However though the Heat have struggled on the road this year as they are 15-21 as the away team. Look to see if Miami can fix their issues on the road in this one and move up to sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
The Heat have a bunch of talent on their team that have been balling out this year. Miami has been led by Jimmy Butler this season as he leads the team in points and assists. This season Butler is averaging 22.8 points and 5.1 assists a game. Big man Bam Adebayo has helped Butler out averaging 20.9 points and 9.3 rebounds a game this season. Last years sixth man of the year Tyler Herro has really stepped up this season averaging 20.3 points a game.
In their loss against Nets at home, Herro and Max Strus both led the way for the Heat combining for 46 points. Each of them scored 23 points. Butler did his thing finishing with 18 points and 5 assists. Adebayo did his thing on the glass finishing with 16 points and 7 rebounds. The Heat just could not stop the guard play of the Nets. In the loss, the Heat shot 47.5% from the floor and 40.0% from the three-point line.
Toronto Raptors Basketball
With a 37-38 record on the season and a 22-23 record in conference play, the Raptors are currently in ninth place in the Eastern Conference. The Raptors have struggled as of late with a 5-5 record in their last ten games. Toronto desperately needs a win as they are in the Playoff play-in game. Lucky for them they have been great at home as they are 25-14 in the Scotiabank Arena. Look for them to continue their dominance at home and move up to the eighth seed and pass the Atlanata Hawks
The Toronto Raptors have been led by Pascal Siakam, who leads the team in points and rebounds. Siakam is averaging 24.2 points and 7.8 rebounds a game this season. Heat vs. Raptors Prediction
I really like Bam Adebayo over 18.5 points in this game. Even though the three games the Heat and the Raptors have played each other this season he has not gotten over 18 points I still trust it. Adebayo has not scored over 18 points in his last two games. He is due for a monster game. What better team to do it to than the Raptors who really do not have a dominant big man to stop Adebayo. I know the odds aren’t great, but there’s a reason for that. Adebayo over 18.5 points all the way.
Heat vs. Raptors Pick: Bam Adebayo over 18.5 points (-131).
