The Wizards and Timberwolves will take each other on in this game in Minnesota. Both of these teams have underperformed this season based on what their respective front offices expected from them coming into this season. The Wizards are playing better as of late. At one points they were 11-20 on the season and many were waiting for them to blow it up but they rebounded and they are 16-10 since then. They are 6-4 in their last ten games and are playing well. They have been led by the trio of Kristaps Porzingis, Bradley Beal, and Kyle Kuzma. Combined they average over 65 points per game. The Wizards are still just 27-30 on the season and are still the tenth seed in the East. They are by no regards a sure thing to be a top 10 seed.
The Timberwolves are 31-29 on the season. They traded for Rudy Gobert in the offseason but have not been able to see the full team for an extended amount of time as Karl Anthony Towns is still injured as he has been for a good amount of time this season. They have started playing better behind Gobert and Anthony Edwards. Edwards is playing great this season averaging 24.7 points per game this season.
I like the Wolves in this one. They are playing pretty well recently having won six of their last ten and are starting to look like an actual playoff team. They just beat one of the league’s best teams in the Mavericks who just got Kyrie Irving in Dallas. This was an impressive win as they scraped out a victory 124-121. The Wizards are still not a good team and even though they have been playing better I think the Wolves will prevail here, especially at home in Minnesota where they are much better with a 20-12 record at home compared to just 11-17 on the road.
Final Score Prediction: Timberwolves 125-118
