The Lakers are looking to carry their momentum from their Play-In game win against the Minnesota Timberwolves when they defeated them 108-102 in overtime. The Lakers will look to steal a game from the Grizzlies on the road. Meanwhile, Memphis has been one of the best teams in the NBA this year. They have plans to go far in the playoffs and make a run. Memphis has not played a game since April 9th when they lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 115-100. The Grizzlies will have a challenge with a tough seventh seed in the Lakers. They are not a walk in the park.

The Lakers ended their season with a 43-39 record. They finished in seventh place in the Western Conference this season. In the Play-In games Los Angeles took care of business quickly and defeated the Timberwolves in a thriller. Los Angeles is hot right now with a 8-2 record in their last ten games. They have a hard task right in round one of the playoffs against the Grizzlies. This will be a tough series. The Lakers need their two superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis to step up if they want a chance to advance. Los Angeles has been shaky on the road though this season with a 20-21 record as the away team.

Also, Anthony Davis has been great this season, averaging 25.9 points and 12.5 rebounds. Dennis Schroder has stepped up this year for the lakers averaging 12.6 points and 4.5 assists. He leads the team in assists this season.
In their win against the Timberwolves at home, James and Davis both went off combining for 54 points. James finished with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. Davis had 24 points and 15 rebounds. Off the bench Schroder finished with 21 points, shooting 3-4 from the three-point line. In the win, the Lakers shot 41.3% from the floor and 32.3% from the three-point line.
Memphis Grizzlies Basketball
Memphis finished the season with a 51-31 record and a 30-22 record in conference play. They dominated the West all season and comfortablysecured the second seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. I dont know if they are too happy with it though as they have a very difficult matchup for a 2 vs. 7 matchup as the Lakers are no joke. They have fixed their problems from earlier in the season and look dangerous. Memphis will have home court advantage in the first two games of the series. This is great because Memphis has basically been unbeatable at home with a 35-6 record at the FedExForum this season.Memphis will need all of their superstars to step up and contribute.
The Grizzlies have been led by Ja Morant this season, who leads the team in points and assists. Morant is averaging 26.2 points and 8.1 assists a game this season. Desmond Bane has helped Morant in the backcourt this season as he is averaging 21.5 points a game this season. Look for him to contribute in this series. Finally Jaren Jackson Jr. will need to have a huge series against the bigs of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Jackson Jr. is averaging 18.6 points and 6.8 rebounds a game this season.
