Matchup: Chicago Bulls vs. Houston Rockets

The Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets will go head-to-head this Thursday in a nail biting cross conference matchup. The Bulls are 9th in the East and fighting to remain in the top-10, while the Rockets are 11th in the West and need to continue winning in order to break into the play-in. Houston has won 6 consecutive games, tied for the longest current streak in the NBA, but the Rockets will need some help in order to avoid an early end to their season. A win over the Bulls would certainly help, but Chicago is picking up steam after winning back-to-back games, and Thursday’s contest will be a tight one.

Below you’ll find all of our picks for the Bulls vs. Rockets, including stats, scores, and betting advice. We’ll help you navigate the odds and provide helpful betting tips for Wednesday’s matchup between the Bulls and Rockets.

Bulls vs. Rockets History

This Thursday marks the 147th regular season matchup between the Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets. Incredibly, they are tied 73-73, as Chicago and Houston have split the bill 50/50 over their 57-year long series. This season, the Bulls won the first matchup 124-119 in an overtime thriller in Chicago. This time around the Rockets get home court advantage, where they are 45-23 (66.2%) against Chicago, and 7-3 (70%) in their last 10 home games versus the Bulls. Chicago will need to overcome their road game struggles in order to take down the Rockets, but Houston’s dominance at home has been their biggest strength in this series.

Bulls vs. Rockets Game Predictions

I’m going with the Houston Rockets over the Chicago Bulls in this one. Houston’s dominance at home has been absolute, winning 67.6% (23-11) of their home games overall, and 66.7% (8-4) of their home games against the East. Chicago is 16-18 (47.1%) on the road, and while the Bulls have back-to-back victories under their belt, both games were against very beatable teams (Portland Trail Blazers and Washington Wizards). The Rockets won’t go down easily, especially with a potential playoff berth on the line.

Houston’s top-scorer Alperen Sengun is likely out for the rest of the season, but Jalen Green’s play over the last few games has been spectacular. Green is averaging 19.1 points this season, but in his last 3 games he averaged 35.0 points, and is coming off a 42 point performance against the Wizards. The Bulls will be without Coby White, their breakout point guard who put up 30 points on the Rockets in their first matchup. Chicago’s Alex Caruso is also questionable, a player whose defensive presence will be sorely missed. Houston’s 6-game run has the team feeling good, and with several key players out for Chicago, the Rockets will extend their streak.

In summary, here are my picks for the Bulls vs. Rockets Thursday night matchup:

  • Moneyline Pick: Houston Rockets (-135)

If you take the Rockets Moneyline (-135): You bet $135 to win $100, for a total payout of $235, if the Rockets win straight up.

  • ATS Pick: Houston Rockets (-2.5)

If you take the Rockets to Cover the -2.5 Spread (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if the Rockets win the game by at least 3 points.

  • O/U Pick: Over (213)

If you take the Over on 213 total points (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if the Bulls and Rockets combine for more than 213 points.
