Matchup: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Denver Nuggets
After an incredible upset over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, the Portland Trail Blazers will look to top it with another improbable win, this time over the reigning champion Denver Nuggets. Portland will travel into Denver on Friday to face the champs on their home turf, where the Nuggets are 19-4, an 82.6% win-rate. The Blazers are 6-20 on the road (win-rate: 23.1%), haven’t beaten Denver at home since 2021, and are 17.5 games behind the Nuggets in the West. Needless to say, Portland has an uphill climb ahead of them. Denver won’t make it easy for Portland, as the Nuggets are looking to get back on track after suffering a 5-point loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, and there’s no better way to get the groove back than against a bottom feeding team like Portland. However, I’m sure the Milwaukee Bucks had a similar mindset when they faced Portland, and the Blazers handed them a 3-point loss, proving there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to the Trail Blazers.

Trail Blazers vs. Nuggets Game Predictions
While the Blazers win over Milwaukee was impressive, Portland doesn’t have what it takes to beat Denver at home. The Nuggets will win the game, but I would stay away from their moneyline. $750 is a lot to risk, so I’m leaning toward the Portland Trail Blazers to cover the spread. The Blazers are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games, while the Nuggets are 4-5-1. Sportsbooks don’t respect the Blazers, which means you can take advantage and bet on Portland to keep it close. The Blazers win over Milwaukee proved they can run with the big dogs, and while a win over Denver is unlikely, this young Portland team now believes they have what it takes to keep it close, even against the NBA’s reigning champions.
Moneyline Pick: Denver Nuggets (-750)
ATS Pick: Portland Trail Blazers (+11.5)
O/U Pick: Over (223)
Score: Trail Blazers 115; Nuggets 121
