Pacers Remain NBA’s Top-Scorers
The Indiana Pacers are leading the NBA in scoring with 125.7 points per game, yet they are 7th in the East with a 7-5 record. The Pacers offense is rolling, but they aren’t outsourcing their opponents by much, as their defense is giving up 123.8 points per game. Indiana went 5-5 in their last 10, but they’ve allowed 120+ points in 4 straight games. The Pacers desperately need to improve defensively, but unfortunately they face the high flying Atlanta Hawks in their next matchup. The Hawks are a middling 6-6, but average nearly 120 points per game. Against a generous Indiana defense, Atlanta could be in for a big night.
However, despite the defenses troubles, I’m going with the Indiana Pacers in this one. The Pacers are incredibly well-rounded on offense. Tyrese Haliburton leads the team with 23.5 points per game, but Indiana has 8 total players averaging 10+ points per game. It’s hard to keep the Pacers off the scoreboard because they have so many options. Atlanta’s offense is solid, but the Hawks are allowing 117.9 points per game, which won’t cut it against Indiana’s prolific scorers.
