All right, Tommy D. is back with bet the edge. This is the Wednesday, March 9, update. And we got a lot to talk about here. And March Madness is, well, March Madness is here. Basically, we got conference games but the big dance starts in about eight days. And we’re going to be talking a lot about that and we’re going to be broadcasting right through the tournaments.  I think he played his hand as good as anyone ever. I think they were just a big poker bluff. And he knew exactly what was going to happen. He knew he had the package eaten out of his hands, and they were going to do whatever it took to keep this guy on the roster. And he got 50 million a year. So kudos Darren Rodgers while of his agents getting five to 7% he just hit the jackpot also.

 So I’m sure it’s sure he had some consulting advice going on. But we’ll talk about that. We got NBA we’re gonna be talking about a big game on Wednesday, and we got to college hoop game. Let’s get right to it. This game is right down here in South Beach in Miami. And we’ll talk in Miami and we’re talking Phoenix Suns. I’m going to go with Drake because Drake is our resident Miami Heat guy. 

What do you think that may be a couple of players out from Miami? I’m told right. What’s your take on this one? Yeah, I mean, we don’t have a line on this game yet. But the heat are just playing great basketball right now. I’m Phoenix, you know, there were without Chris Paul. You’re going to be coming off a back-to-back they play in Orlando.

Tonight and then they go and they play the heat. The heater playing really well. Right now we don’t know if DEVIN BOOKER will be in. He’s not playing tonight. He’s got a non or he is he does have a non-COVID illness I believe. But if he doesn’t play that line is going to be pretty big. He does play I expect that lighting to come down but I expect Miami to be my favorite either way. And I’m going to take Miami they’re just playing great Tyler hero is playing out of his mind right now. He’s becoming a superstar in front of our eyes. 

I think he’s averaging like 26 points over his last since the all-star break on like 55% shooting. So I just think the heats bench they just got Victrola depot back to he probably won’t play. But the heat bench is just too good right now. For anyone to stop them. They’re on a roll right now. They’ve now separated themselves from the rest of the Easter up three games I think. So. I’m going to take Miami here.

Alright, Miami to cachette in South Beach. Scott, what’s your thought on this one? Oh, what? Come on now is there a thought I mean, to be honest with you, I think the heat is going to be a huge favorite in the game.

 I mean, Phoenix was getting nine and a half against Milwaukee the other day and you know they stay hung in there for a while but you know, the end they felt they kind of walked over the last couple of minutes and end up covering the game-winning the game by 10 I think this can be the same type of situation I wouldn’t be surprised that Miami is not at least the good eight 910 point favorite in this game against Phoenix without Chris You know Chris Paul, which is the spark and the key the leadership knows DEVIN BOOKER, the second leader of the team he’s going to probably be out missing that game. And I don’t know how you’re going to play against the heat right now because all the pieces of the puzzle a fitting in great for the heat.

Kyle lottery back in the lineup, which is a key like like Dre said, Hero unbelievable guys lights out crazy.

Whatever he seems to eat whatever he seems to be doing is working around Butler. Bam, I Abeille the whole team. I mean, right now Miami is playing on their A-game, they are moving like this in the right direction. Phoenix obviously doesn’t have all their key pieces to the puzzle. Gotta like Miami at home 23 And seven. Home record tough always plays physical defense. I think if they, you know, I think they took it a little easy against that Houston team the other night, you know, they did, you know, win by 17. 

But I don’t think they really needed to prove anything. I think they knew that they were going to get the job done in that game. They’re not looking ahead towards Phoenix because they know Phoenix doesn’t have their full team. So I think Miami wins the game. I don’t know the line at this point in time, but I’m thinking based on what I look at, they’re going to be at least an eight and a half to nine out point favorite. And I see Miami being able to cover this spread. I think they’re going to continue their winning ways. Keep putting the pressure on the Eastern Conference that wants to pick up as many wins as possible. 

Why give a win away against a team that’s short-handed when you’re playing fully staffed to playing your best basketball. Take the heat guys, tough to go against them. And so we both agree on the heat. Just another bit of NFL news that came across a couple of hours ago. Russell Wilson no longer a Seahawk. He’s going to Denver

you know, not a complete shock. I guess he was not happy in Seattle. Pretty big trade. What Dre What do you think there you think cola final home there You Think? Think he’ll be he’ll be productive in Denver? I mean, best division in football. Now. We got Russell Wilson, Patrick mahomes, Justin Herbert and Derek Carr. I mean, it’s crazy. The AFC is stacked at the moment. There are so many teams that can make the playoffs. The NFC is kind of weak right now. I think this is actually the perfect year for Rogers to to get over the hump and get to the Super Bowl here. So I would look at the Green Bay futures bet

you go. I’m sure there’s a number you could find right now. Scott, any any thoughts on this trade? I mean, it was it was do it’s no surprise here. I mean, there’s been rumblings about him, you know,

whether he was happy or not happy, you know, over the last year and a half a couple of years already. So now, I mean, I obviously it’s a good fit. Denver’s got some, you know, some key key key players on both sides on offense and defense, so he can definitely fit in with them. He’s a good quarterback. He knows what’s going on. He’s won a Super Bowl. He knows how to lead. I think it’s a great fit for Denver. I mean, I think I think it’s a good matchup. You know, he hasn’t been I’ll tell you to be honest with you. He really hasn’t been himself. 

I don’t know if it was because of all this pressure on maybe leaving not leaving or maybe was injured. I know. He had some injuries, you know, nothing major, but he did have some injuries that may be hampered his performance. But I think if he gets healthy, he’s got some nice weapons with this Denver Bronco team. And he’s got a nice defense there. So you know, that could be interesting. I don’t know if they’re going to be able to challenge you know, the key the key leaders in that division and if see, because this buffalo team, you know, it’s gonna come back strong and you know, Casey’s gonna come back strong.

 And you know, San Diego excuse me San Diego the only garden is going to be strong. So there’s a lot of a lot of guys going to be battling and obviously Cincinnati with Joe burrow and what they do in the offseason. So what about the ravens and Lamar Jackson? Yeah, you got and the Steelers you don’t know what the Steelers are going to do at this point in time. So the AFC is going to be very interesting this year but definitely a good trade for Denver picking up a quarterback of with this you know, this level of quarterback no doubt about it. I’m curious who’s going to quarterback from Seattle?

They got drew locked back in the trade I guess you know, I think they’re gonna draft him they’re gonna probably have to go into the draft. Well, the draft the draft is in April, you got to combine the funny thing about the NFL it comes with every year man and it’ll be here before you know it but we’re gonna be dealing with March Madness here and and the NBA Playoffs if baseball ever gets their act together, we’ll talk a little about baseball. Let’s look

I’m going to be checking that out. Just to let you guys know I got invited. One of the guys I was with this weekend as a huge I’m not gonna mention names but a huge sports agent in the NFL. They one of the top agents and they invited me out to hang out they got some players that are going to be drafted in into the NFL this year. So I’m going to be enjoying myself. They invited me to come out with them and chill out for the NFL Draft because it is Vegas in April. So I’m gonna check that out. Exactly. It’s coming up quickly. Let’s talk

college hoops. We got a big matchup Wednesday, St. John’s the Paul I see an early line here. Johnny’s minus five. Dre. What’s your take on this one? Guy? Yeah, I think the Paul could win this game.

I mean, they’re playing. They’re playing pretty well. We know they beat St. John’s three days or three games ago. 9994 They beat more cats. They played the Connecticut Arranque team very close. They’ve played providences season very close. All their other losses have been pretty close games. Um, they’ll Seton Hall by to that awesome brother by two. I really liked upon this part. St. John’s is not playing good basketball right now. In my opinion. They lost their last game versus Marquette a team that the ball actually beat. So I think the PA plus five is the play here.

All right, you taking the dog Scott, you agree? Oh, what do you see in this one? Well, I had to Paul the last time they played I liked them a lot. They were a plus three-point dog and they won the game. All right, it was a high-scoring affair, obviously 9990 493 points. I’m like trying to get a number. That’s why I’m checking something right now on my system here. I’m trying to see if I see a total on this game. Have you pulled up a number on the total yet on this game for I think I’m so in about 153 and a half or so I think they got potential based on what how I look at these games. 

And I’ll teach matchup because it’s like styles, it’s like fights, you know, styles make fights and this the type of matchup that I think that these teams just running gun, that’s what they’re going to be used to doing coming up 9994 Not that I’m looking for a repeat performance of that. But I think that these teams, the way they’re gonna match up against each other is going to make the game to be a fast paced type of high scoring game. So I like this game to go over to 153, I’ll get that number down, maybe about 150 to 152 and a half on a buy down on the right number, that’s the number I’m really showing the game to be really solid edge yet. And I would go over 150 to 152 and a half, I think both these teams are going to come out shooting, they’re going to move the ball quickly. These are the type of offenses that can really run up and gut, you know, run and gun up and down the court.

 So I wouldn’t be surprised if this game goes over that 150. Right now I’m showing 153 I probably bring it down to 152. And I go over that number guys. I think they I think that’s some good money you can make on that game. That’s a pretty high total in college hopes. But it’ll be interesting to see you got to Team stuff to get the move the ball that they use them scoring pretty quickly. And if they’re on and they got really good shooting teams, if they’re on they can definitely fire away and put up a lot of points real quickly. 

So that’s it makes it an interesting play. As far as that goes. I think that I think that they’re going to, you know, move the ball. And they’re going to put up a lot of points. Both these teams in this game, I don’t know who’s gonna win or lose it. Because there are a lot of revenge factors and games like this when they play each other in short periods of time. So I’m going to stay away from the number because it’s a tough number, but I think the total as is the number to get the money on. Alright, Dre likes to point you like that over this time of the show that we put out the best bet. So it doesn’t have to be a game that we spoke about. It could be any game for Wednesday. I’m going to go back to you, Dre. Who’s your best bet for Wednesday? Yeah, I really like we don’t have a lion on this game yet.

 But I mean, I like the Mavericks tomorrow against the Knicks. The Knicks are playing just not good. Hopefully, they’ve they’re coming off a big win over the kings But before that, I think that last like three straight are more or less to straighten the role. The Knicks won the Clippers the night before the king. So yeah, yeah. And then there’s three before that they had lost Seventh Street. Oh, but they were down to this team. They were down to the kings by like 20 points and they came back and Julius Randle had a massive night. But with the way the Mavericks are playing right now. I don’t know how you can bet against them.

 Or they’ve won five straight games, really behind Luca Don church. I think he had 3516 35 and 16 Last night against the guys and when they are about to catch the jazz for that third season are 14 Excuse me, in the West and they’re playing for a lot because they’re only about three games back of the warriors, I believe. And they could easily if they keep playing like this, they can get that to the sheet.

 I think the Knicks are in a brutal three games stretch and they play I Mavericks I Grizzlies at the nets. So I think that they’re in a good marriage or in a good spot here to cover whatever number it is.

All right, yeah. What do you think about Wednesday night? Who is your best bet?

that does quietly creeping up the charts and playing phenomenal basketballs his Boston Celtics team. I mean, they have been just quietly winning games like crazy

54 for Jason Tatum, a beast and his last game against Brooklyn. Just seems like they’re all gelling now. They got their players back. Seems like this is just good vibrations all over the Celtics right now, they are scoring, and a lot of the players are participating moving the ball around, you know, when the defense shows up, makes them really awesome. 

On the offense, you know, that just seems like they find ways to really beat up on teams, but I think a team that can run with them is this Charlotte Hornets team that playing Charlotte I like this game to be a high scoring game, I’m showing an early number of about 225 to 226. On this total, I think that both these teams are going to run a gun, this is gonna be another one of these games that fire fire fire, they got a lot of key playmakers on both sides that can penetrate great you know, dish off passing outside shooting is a key to both these teams that very well. Very well orchestrated with the three-point shots for both these clubs. 

So I think that this game has an absolute Big Shot of being a very high scoring game, I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t score between 234 and 240 points in this game between both teams because they’re playing it that you know, really scoring a lot of points and I like the Celtics overall as far as to what they’re doing and I think Shaula will definitely try to keep up with them as far as scoring a lot of points so I like the game to go over the number

All right, Dre likes the mat best bet and they’ve been winning our best bets have been cashing things if you like the over in the Celtic game let’s move quickly to up for a prop play dry your resident prop guy get to throw out an NBA prop you like for Wednesday night I got to for you guys in the same game we’ll take

some bonus or the next play or shoot in the next day and hit kings play the nuggets on or tomorrow and right now the way that the Niccola Yoga excuse me is playing I mean you got to take him over and points rebound assists, he is gunning for back to back MDPs he wants it and beat is I think the slight favorite right now. But the way you can just play How are you going to take it from but these two teams played twice already after the Sacramento trade with for the monster some bonus and so bonus and yo kitch both went off in these games. Um, so I’m going to take both of their overs in points, rebounds, and assists. 

So bonus had a ridiculous he had 1416 and seven and 3314 and five against the nugget so these two are going at each other. They’re both European big man I’m going to take both of their overs and points rebounds and assists.
