Alright, Tommy D is here with bet the edge. This is the Friday, March 4, update 2022. And we’re going to be talking a little basketball here. We’re going to be talking some UFC. Let’s get right down to it. My co-host took the show on the road. Mr. Scott Matthews is in Sin City, Las Vegas, Nevada. Scott, what’s going on out there?

It’s getting busy out here. Tommy, the hotels are filling up. It’s gonna be a big weekend you got PAC 12 conference games out here for college basketball this weekend, you got the UFC, a big grudge match going on, which I’ll be at tomorrow night. We’ll talk about that. And just a lot of stuff that normally goes on in Viva Las Vegas, but we’re here at the palot. So we got a nice little setup, and having a good time and looking to make some money. While we’re out here, obviously.

Well, that’s the idea. That’s the idea. We’re going to be out there Final Four weekend, we’re going to be broadcasting from the Circa Scott will be out there with me. So we’re planning a big shindig, we’re going out to a big conference, the bed bash conference, maybe you heard about it. That’ll be at the circuit hotel and we will be broadcasting that weekend from the Circa Alright, we’re gonna get right to it. MBA a couple of college hoop games.

This is a big matchup I mean, you know Miami when I’m broadcasting from Miami six is Miami Heat. Tomorrow night Saturday,

that game used to conference a lot on the line that big game

I mean these two teams are going to definitely be playoff contenders no doubt. No line as of now I suspect the heat will be a small favorite. What’s your take on this one Scott.

We don’t know if the either going to be a small favorite or not because Jimmy Butler is still a game-time decision with his toe factor. He may or may not play which is going to be the deciding Kyle Lowry still out of the lineup. But obviously, the Sixers have come together I can’t say that you know I can’t judge it based on the three games since I’ve been with them because they really haven’t played anybody like a Miami Heat. And these last three games you know obviously beaten the Knicks a couple of times, so they haven’t beat the top teams but definitely, the Sixers are playing well as a unit right now you could see how they’re gelling and beat and James Harden so far it looks really good. So that’s a good situation. But yeah, there’s gonna be a tough game. 

I mean very I think this game is gonna be very, very physical. There’s no doubt about it when teams like this matchup. The game is down in Miami. Miami is playing excellent basketball they’ve had a tremendous week. Yeah, they played some tough opponents like a playoff game almost every night so far this week. They had a tough schedule so that was wear and tear on them. We don’t have a real line on this game. But I think I think based on what I’m seeing and if Butler’s in and everything else gets the way I expect it to and the way I looked at this game inside and out I’m gonna I’m gonna favor Miami in this game to get the job done. And I like Miami at home in this spot because their role players have been phenomenal as I keep saying on the show their role players have been unbelievable all year consistent as can be. They bring a big spark for them and with their starting lineup in you know with bam and all these you know players obviously, you got Tyler hero coming off the bench.

 He’s put in more than 25 points more than any other player coming off the bench in the whole NBA this year. So with all these key players and if Jimmy Butler does play Lowry I dimension is out. But the heat finds ways to win. And Eric’s bolster is a great coach, phenomenal coach, and big games. He knows how to rally the troops.

 I think Philly gets their first loss with mbeadh and harden and this one I would take Miami I don’t know the exact line on the game. But I think if all as well Miami is probably about a two and a half three-point favorite depending of Butler plays or not. I would probably be depending on if Butler is or is not in this game guys. I would love to get this game on Miami on a money line and Take Miami at home on the money line and make that work for you.

All right, it’s gonna be a big game down here in South Beach without a doubt. So your recommendation prediction is Miami on the money line. Alright, let’s move over to college hopes. I mean it’s coming Going down right to the last week or so before the conferences and tournaments thought the conferences actually did start. March Madness is going to start about 12 days. So we’re going to be constantly online here. What updates through the month of March at online sports that first one that we’re looking at here, Scott, big ACC matchup? A huge, huge man, this is a classic Tobacco Road dude versus North Carolina. What what do you what are you looking at

here? Whoa, Coach K’s last game and Cameron, you know, they’re gonna be jacked up. I mean, the guy’s been here forever. You know, they’re, they’re going to be the crowd support for this game is going to be incredible.

 I’ll tell you in North Carolina playing good ball right now they’ve been winning games. They’re playing well, 22 and eight for the season. But this Duke team has been playing lights out as well. I mean, there’s no way based on the numbers, I mean, probably they’re going to be a strong favorite in this game. Duke, obviously, they’re going to probably be about a seven seven-point favorite, I would think he may be even more in this game. I don’t have the exact number yet.

 Because as we’re doing this show early, there isn’t real a real number up. But I got to think that North Carolina will be a strong underdog in this game, I think they’re gonna find a way to stay in this game, I think the emotions of the game might get a little bit towards dokie. It could work one way. And it could work another way. But I think the way North Carolina is playing right now. And it seems like they’re on that, you know, upward rise at this point in time, as well as Duke is, I think this game is going to be a close game, it’s going to be a battle. And I think North Carolina’s stays in this game, guys. Don’t be surprised.

 I wouldn’t be shocked if North Carolina can’t win this game. But I definitely feel they’re going to cover this game. And I think it’s gonna be a big number. And I could see you guys getting about seven or eight points on this number. So I would be jumping on the Tar Heels in this game. I just think that they know how to play against Duke in certain situations. And I think with all the emotions in this game on both sides, working for it, it’s going to be a close game.

Alright, so you like the points in that one that that is gonna be

a lot of friends of mine that a close, you know, with Duke that no Coach K extremely well, that are actually going to the game, you know, because it’s his last game. So you know, there’s gonna be a lot of emotions riding in this game, you know, with the fans and family and friends of Coach K’s over the years, you know, so that, you know, it could work well. But sometimes it doesn’t work well, especially when you’re playing an opponent that knows you like North Carolina really knows Duke and they played so many close and tough gains over so many years together. I just think that the number is going to be overinflated.

 And I think that overinflated numbers going to favor North Carolina to keep themselves in the game.

Alright, that makes sense. But it is going to be a great game to watch. Let’s move out to the West Coast Scott big PAC 12 matchup Saturday night is another two big rivals UCLA USC what you think in here

you know when you get teams like this to know each other so well, I mean, they’re both playing extremely well. Matter of fact, USC has been playing great on the road I mean, I believe they’re 82 on the road this year. They’re good against the number they’re playing UCLA is a strong team this is another game that I think fits the mold of the you know, close type of game because the way they know each other the way they match up the way both teams are playing right now you USC playing really well on the road UCLA great home team.

 I think this game is gonna be another close one I think you’re going to get some value on the number on this game I wouldn’t be surprised if this game is is a six six and a half point spread and I think that the USC the way they’re playing on the numbers on the road covering against the point spread can match up extremely well in cases like this with a team like UCLA they both have great outside shooting teams they both have big guys you know in on the inside so I think they can match up well and I like the dog in this game. 

I think the dogs are barking Tommy this weekend with except for the heat. I think the heat will be a favorite if Butler like I said that Butler situation would a game time decision still because of the toe could make a difference in that point spread if he’s out. I think Philly would be the favorite in that game. But if he’s not I believe Miami will be a solid two and a half three point favorites if Butler plays but I like both dogs in college to make a long story short, I think they both can stay in it the PAC 12 these type of games normally complete they can play tight. Sometimes they have blowouts but I don’t see a blowout on this game. I think USC has enough to keep themselves in the game against the team like UCLA.

Alright, so you’re gonna be both going checking

those games out because I believe they’re being played out here in Vegas. Is the PAC 12 this weekend. So I’ve got so much going on, I’m going to the UFC, we’re going to the weigh ins today, we’re going to the hockey game, the Vegas Knights game on Sunday, early after, like early afternoon game out here in Vegas. So got a lot of moving things going on going to be making some bets on games. You know, looking forward to some time, you know, just a lot of good stuff going on. Like you mentioned, we’re going to be back out here in a few more weeks, saying it is probably the greatest, the greatest sportsbook on the strip right now this circuit is unbelievable, guys. All right, I want to talk a little about the fight Scott, I know you’re going to be there. Well as my 14-year-old son was hitting me up on the way out here. And for the last couple of weeks dad, I like to put a little money on on the underdog plus the 260. And can you can I put $100 on it. And I said listen a little early yet for that stuff. But my son is a big believer that mass football has a shot in this fight. I’m not a big-time UFC guy, I love to go to the fights, don’t get me wrong, and I’m into it. And my son is into it, which is great because I take him with me. So we have a good time.

It’s a good bonding time out here, obviously between him and I got one of his friends with us and so forth and so on. So we’re gonna have a good time. But this is a major grudge match. You don’t understand Tommy these two guys were like best friends. I mean, you know, there’s the hug and kiss and be like all over each other. I mean that best buddies trained together know each other extremely well. 

Both were with the American Top Team out of Coconut Creek, Florida, which is pretty close to obviously, where our main offices are located down there in South Florida. But these guys really were best friends now the worst of enemies. They look, you know, again, there’s a lot of hype in this stuff. So it’s almost like wrestling to me at times WWE, I then can’t stand each other, then you find out they’re in the car afterward, driving home together to the next event. So you don’t really know. But it really does appear these two guys really do hate each other.

 I know Covington is probably obviously he’s a huge favorite in this fight. He’s minus one, like you said from 320 to 360. He’s not a slouch favorite. And he is the stronger probably of the two of these guys at this point in time. But this must be a doll He’s an animal. I mean, you know this guy, if he’s got a hard on for this guy. You know, you don’t know what’s going through his mind. But again, I think this is going to be a slugfest it’s going to be exciting. It’s not a major, major card of fights. It’s not like a huge UFC. But this fight alone takes precedence, obviously, because of the hate that both these guys have for each other. But I think Covington is the stronger of the two. I think he’s going to find the way to get the job done in this fight. And I wouldn’t be surprised if he kicks this guy’s ass. So do you think it goes the distance of four and a half?

You know, I think I don’t I don’t think it’s going to go the distance. I think this is the type of fight that these guys want. They’re going to lay it out there and they’re going to leave themselves open that one of them is going to get smashed. What and I don’t think it’s the type of fight that’s going to go along. It might go to three rounds. You know, maybe I don’t know I can’t tell you I’m not the Oba on this four and a half. But there’s a lot of buzzes I’ll tell you on the plane ride out here last night when I brought my son and his friend and his dad with me a lot. 

A lot of people on the plane with UFC, you know stuff tied to these fighters because obviously, they’re both out of the South Florida region. And that’s what we came out of last night out of South Florida to get out here. But a lot of people on the plane we’re going out here for this fight. So there is a lot of hype. These guys are making it hype up. You saw the news conference yesterday. They were at each other’s throats they had so many cops behind them You know, security guys, cops, you know, Vegas Metro.

That’s part of the show, but I’m sure that there’s a lot of bad blood damn sure,

it is definitely bad blood, to what extent do you know you and I will never know, right? I think they’re gonna put on a hell of a show because of the fact that they definitely are showing that they can’t stand one another, and they want to kick each other’s ass, that’s for sure. And I think it’s gonna be exciting. I’m going to have a good time. And I think I think personally, the Covington is the stronger of the two at this point in time, I think he’s more focused on this type of situation than mouse football is. But you never know. That’s right.

Well, you’re gonna you’ll be at the fight. And I’m sure you’ll have some good footage for us as well. Next,

And yeah, we’re gonna get to that in a second. What we normally do at this time of the show is we put out the best bet. So, Scott, I want you to put the best bet out for the weekend. It doesn’t have to be one of the games that we went over, it could be actually any game. If you had to put one game out, what would you say?

I’m going to jump on this USC team, I think this PAC 12 game is going to be tight. I think these teams know each other really well. I like the way that USC is playing against the numbers, you know, on the road, and especially as a dog, you know, in a spot like this, I think UCLA is going to be a heavier favorite, they’ll probably be at least I’m thinking there’ll be a six, six and a half point favorite. If it’s much lower than that, then you know, I might think a little differently. But I if you can get this line up to six or more six and a half or seven. I think that’s a great bet. I mean, I look for value, guys, you know, I’m a value player. I shop around for numbers. If you guys follow me on Instagram, and things like that, you know what I’m all about, even on my free videos that I put out to guys, even though they have free picks, I still try to get you guys that betting number edge to try to make it work. And I’ve had a lot of games recently. Listen, there’s nothing I could do about it. I’m trying to beat a number, they put the number out, I’m smart enough to try to beat it. And the bottom line is sometimes you can beat it. And sometimes you can’t. But I’ve been finding ways to beat these numbers lately, even by half a point or a point by and shop for numbers.

 So follow that rule. I mean, I know guys don’t like lay and juice Tommy I’m sure they tell you all the time. You know, I don’t like to lay 125 130 on a game. Listen, I get it, you know all the time. No, but once in a while on certain matchups. That makes sense. And it shows that it could be there that the game could be a little tighter. But you still like the play. Guys say well if it’s going to be so tight. Why use it? You know what, I like it, I gotta like, I gotta use what I like. And
