New York Knicks at Miami Heat: Conference Semifinal Game 6 Prediction, Player Props, & Betting Tips
By Sam Batz
The NBA Playoffs continue on Friday, May 12th with a thrilling Conference Semifinal Game 6 matchup between the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat (7:30 PM EST, ESPN). Miami leads the series with a 3-2 advantage over New York, meaning if the Heat win on Friday, they advance and the Knicks go home. Elimination games are always exciting, and these players are gearing up for a battle of the ages. Both sides have done surprisingly well in the playoffs, but only one can advance to the Conference Finals. The Knicks enter Game 6 as +5.5 point underdogs, while the Heat, who remain undefeated at home, are favored to win and advance to the next round.
The New York Knicks (+5.5; ML +175)
The Knicks are 6-4 through their first 10 games in the playoffs, but after knocking the Cleveland Cavaliers out in the First Round, New York has struggled against Miami. Shooting 43.8% from the Field, and an abysmal 29.2% from the 3-point line, the Knicks have the worst shooting average of any team left in the playoffs. They are averaging 102.2 points per game in the Conference Semis, but are giving up 106.0 points per game to Miami. Jalen Brunson (38), RJ Barrett (26), and Julius Randle (24) combined for 88 points in New York’s Game 5 victory, and they’ll need their Big-Three to have another monster outing in order to avoid elimination. Despite the offensive struggles, the Knicks are just 1 game behind the Heat, and with a win on Friday, they will force a Game 7 where anything can happen.
The Miami Heat (-5.5; ML -210)
Miami is this year’s dark horse, and after knocking out the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in the First Round, the Heat have continued to impress. They are 7-3 in the postseason and could make history as the first play-in team to reach the Conference Finals. According to FiveThirtyEight, Miami has a 80% chance to reach the next round, and have a 65% win probability against New York in Game 6. Jimmy Butler has ascended to a new level this postseason; averaging 31.9 points per game, Butler is the nuclear core powering Miami’s improbable playoff run. The Heat have been grossly underestimated in every series, but they don’t care, since their underdog status is likely the reason Miami is about to reach their second consecutive Eastern Conference Final.

Knicks vs. Heat: Bold Player Prop
Kyle Lowry (Heat Point Guard): Over 4.5 Assists (+100)
The 37-year old Kyle Lowry is one of the oldest active players in the postseason this year. He is averaging 10.0 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in 24.9 minutes per game. His veteran leadership has been unquestionably valuable for Miami, especially with Lowry leading the second-unit off the bench. He’s been in these pressure situations before, and remains a staunch offensive mastermind who provides meaningful advice to his younger teammates. Lowry is a tried and true Point Guard who loves to create shots for his teammates, and I predict Kyle Lowry goes over 4.5 assists in Game 6.
Knicks vs. Heat Game 6 Prediction
Take the Miami Heat to win Game 6. It will be a hard-fought game, but I have confidence in Miami to get the job done in front of their home fans. Jimmy Butler is going to attract a lot of attention from a stalwart New York defense, and guys like Bam Adebayo, Gabe Vincent, and Max Strus need to have peak performances in Game 6. The Knicks offense hasn’t been great this postseason, but on the road, they’ve been downright deplorable. New York averages just 96.8 points, and shoots 26.5% from 3-point range, per game on the road, which won’t cut it against the Miami Heat who are undefeated at home, and playing like they want it more.
Prediction: Miami Heat Moneyline (-210)
