Mavericks Host NBA Best Boston Celtics
The Dallas Mavericks are hosting the Boston Celtics on Monday. It’s their first matchup of the season, but last year Boston swept Dallas 2-0. The odds are pending for this cross conference showdown, but Boston is the presumed favorite. The Celtics are 11-8 as favorites on the road, while Dallas is 4-3 as underdogs at home. Both sides are coming off a loss and went 6-4 in their last 10. Boston’s Al Horford and Jrue Holiday are listed as out for today’s game against Houston, and it’s worth monitoring their status for Monday. Dallas’ Seth Curry and Dante Exum are listed as questionable for Monday.
I’m going with the Boston Celtics here. Dallas has a great offense, led by Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, but the Mavs have struggled defensively, allowing the 11th-most points per game in the West. Boston averages 118.0 points per road game, shooting 46.4% from the field and 35.5% from Three. Even if Holiday and Horford miss Monday’s game, the Celtics have the depth to fill their shoes. Monday’s game will be the second of a back-to-back for Boston, but the Celtics are 5-2 on no rest, and are looking for redemption after suffering their first home loss of the season on Friday.
So for our Celtics vs. Mavericks expert pick, take the Boston Celtics on Monday.
