The Jazz started off the series with a win but it was overshadowed by the fact that Luka Doncic was out. The Mavericks kept the game close but ultimately it was not enough. Donovan Mitchell and Bogdan Bogdanovich combined for 58 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. The Jazz needs to win this second game because if Luka comes back and they are tied at 1-1 in the series they may be in trouble.
The Mavericks played them close but ultimately came up close. They badly need this game three because if they go down 2-0 in the series and head back to Utah they may be in trouble even if Doncic comes back. Brunson and Dinwiddie combined for 46 and they still lost by six. The big problem was the six missed free throws by Dinwiddie.
