Luka injury puts Mavs in trouble
This 4-5 matchup really takes a hit when realizing the series’ top player may be out.
When the series odds for this series dropped it drew a surprised reaction. The books knew that Luka Doncic might be hobbled in this series. He is dealing with a left calf strain suffered in the last game of the season. This is horrible news for the Mavericks as Luka averages over 33 points in the playoffs, the most in playoff history. He is questionable for game one but the books don’t think he is playing as they are giving the Mavericks five points at home.
The Jazz didn’t finish the season particularly strong as they only won four of their final ten games. They may have caught a break here with Luka’s injury. They should try to hop on the Mavericks here.
I understand Luka may be out. The books are giving me five here at home with the higher seed. I would take this number either way if he plays or not. I think the Mavericks supporting cast is good enough to keep this game close, especially at home, and especially against a struggling Jazz team.
