Lakers and Pelicans in Tournament Semi-final
The LA Lakers will take on the New Orleans Pelicans in the first ever In-Season Tournament Semi-final. The game is a single elimination matchup, meaning the winner will move on to the Final, and the loser will go home. The Lakers are 2-point favorites, but this is going to be a tightly contested Semi-final. The Pelicans are 4-1 in the tournament, averaging 118.0 points per game, while the Lakers are 5-0 in tournament, averaging 120.0 points per game. New Orleans has struggled at times, but that was mostly due to injuries. The Pelicans starting lineup is back in action and they should give the Lakers a run for their money. However, LA has King James, and we all know how clutch he is in big games.
In the highly anticipated Western Conference Semi-final, I’m going with the LA Lakers. New Orleans is a great team, but the Lakers have more depth, experience, and skill. The Pelicans starters match up well with the Lakers, but it’s LA’s bench that will win them this game. This will be the first meeting between New Oreleans and LA this season, but last year the Lakers nearly swept the Pelicans with a 3-1 series record. It won’t be a blowout, but Lebron James and the LA Lakers will beat New Orleans in tomorrow’s semi-final.
So for our Pelicans vs. Lakers expert pick, take the LA Lakers Moneyline (-130) on Thursday.
