Kristaps Porzingis leads the team | Hawks vs Wizards | OSB

Wizards vs. Hawks

Wizards vs. Hawks

The Washington Wizards will travel to the State Farm Arena to face the Atlanta Hawks in a Eastern Conference matchup (7:30 p.m. ET). The Wizards will look to snap their two-game winning streak. Washington lost Sunday night to the New York Knicks 118-109. They have now lost three of their last five games. Meanwhile, the Hawks are looking to add on to their 132-130 overtime win against the Dallas Mavericks. Atlanta has now won three of their last five games. They just cannot start a winning streak as they keep on winning one game then losing the next.

Washington Wizards Basketball

With a 34-44 record on the season and a 20-29 record in conference play, the Wizards are currently in 11th place and our eliminated in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Washington has struggled as of late with a 3-7 record in their last ten games. Part of the reason why they are eliminated already from the playoffs is because their inability to win on the road. Washington is 16-24 as the away team this season. The Wizards will still try to win and crash the Hawks and their seeding in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The Wizards have had a lot of players step up for them this season. Washington has been led by Kristaps Porzingis this season as he leads the team in points and rebounds. This season Porzingis is averaging 23.2 points and 8.4 rebounds. When healthy Bradley Beal has helped Porzingis on the court as he is averaging 23.2 points and 5.4 assists a game this season. Kyle Kuzma has also been helping the Wizards offenively averaging 21.2 points a game this season.

In their loss against the Knicks on the road, Corey Kispert led the way with 29 points. He shot 4-11 from the three-point line. Rookie Johnny Davis also had a great game finishing with 16 points and 6 rebounds. In the win, the Wizards shot 49.4% from the floor and 43.2% from the three-point line.

Atlanta Hawks Basketball

With a 39-39 record on the season and a 24-24 record in conference play, the Hawks are currently in eighth place in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta just has not been able to get carry their momentum after a win, as they are 5-5 in their last ten games. The Hawks desperately need to start stacking wins at they are currently in the Playoff play-in game. A bad thing though is that Atlanta has been bad on the road this season. They are 16-23 as the away team this season. Look to see if they can clinch a spot in the play-in game as the eighth seed.

The Atlanta Hawks have been led by Trae Young, who leads the team in points and assists. Young is averaging 26.2 points and 9.9 rebounds a game this season. His back court partner Dejounte Murray has been incredible this season averaging 20.6 points and 6.1 assists a game. De’Andre Hunter has stepped up offensively for the Hawks this season averaging 15.4 points a game.

In their win against the Mavericks at home, Murray led the way with 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Young was right behind him with 24 points and 12 assists. John Collins had a monster game finishing with a double-double scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. With 1.1 seconds left in overtime the game was tied 130-130 until Kyrie Irving tried to steal the ball from Young and got called for a reach in foul, which sent Young to the line where he made both free throws to win the game. In the win, the Hawks shot 47.2% from the floor and 34.3% from the three-point line.

Wizards vs. Hawks Prediction

I love the over in this game. Both of these defenses are awful and let up a ton of points. Plus, both of these teams offenses can catch lightning in a bottle and put up a lot of points quickly. Both of these teams have scored 100+ plus points in their last ten games. Look for a ton of points in this game and take the over. This will be a very high scoring game.
