Kings Pick Up Where They Left Off

Last season, the Sacramento Kings were the NBA’s leading scorers, posting 120.7 points per game. The Kings season opener was Wednesday, and Sacramento picked up right where they left off, outscoring the Utah Jazz 130-114. Sacramento shot 46.1% (47/102) from the field and 37.3% from Three (19/51). Harrison Barnes led the team with 33 points, and last season’s double-double leader, Sacramento’s Domantas Sabonis, had 22 points and 12 rebounds. The Kings have high expectations this season, and so far they’re off to a great start.

The Kings will take on state rivals, the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors lost their opening day matchup, falling to the Phoenix Suns in a 108-104 home loss. Golden State was dominant on their home court last season, but struggled mightily on the road, winning just 26.8% (11-30) of their away games. The Warriors will travel to Sacramento for this one, where they went 1-1 last year, but face a Kings team that’s brimming with confidence.

The Warriors are getting old, and while Steph Curry is still at the top of his game, the rest of the team doesn’t have what it takes to keep up with Sacramento. Golden State’s defensive mastermind, Draymond Green, is out with an ankle injury, and will be sorely missed against the Kings potent offense. Sacramento will run Golden State out of the gym and secure their second win of the young season.

So for our Warriors vs. Kings expert pick, take the Sacramento Kings Moneyline (-142) on Friday.
