Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers: Conference Semifinal Game 4 Prediction, Player Props, & Betting Tips

The hotly contested series between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers continues on Monday, May 8th for Game 4 (7:00 PM EST, TNT). The Lakers lead the series 2-1 and remain undefeated at home in the playoffs. Golden State, who often struggles on the road, are hoping to even the series before heading back to The Bay. After their Game 3 win, LA now has a 67% chance to reach the Conference Finals. In regards to Game 4, the Lakers are -3.5 point favorites with a moneyline priced at -150, while the Warriors are +3.5 point underdogs with a moneyline priced at +130. 

The Golden State Warriors (+3.5; ML +130)

The Warriors are 5-5 through their first 10 games of the postseason. At this rate, Golden State is going to take every series to a Game 7, and exhaust themselves in the process. Consistency, especially on the road, has been an issue for the Warriors. For example, in Game 2 they torched the Lakers 127-100, but then lost 97-127 in Game 3. Turnovers have also been a problem, and at 14.4 turnovers per game, the Warriors have the highest average of any remaining team. Steph Curry is still averaging over 30-points a game in the postseason, but is recording just 23.3 points per game against the Lakers. 

The Los Angeles Lakers (-3.5; ML -160)

The Lakers are 6-3 in the playoffs, but are 4-0 at home. LA is averaging 120.0 points per game at home, and holding opponents to just 98.5 points in Crypto.com Arena. The Lakers had a remarkable bounce back performance in Game 3, beating the Warriors by 30-points directly after losing by 27-points in Game 2. The Lakers have proved they are difficult to overcome at home, and are the rightful favorites for Game 4. Lebron James and Anthony Davis are each averaging over 20-points per game in the postseason, and the Lakers are going to lean heavily on their superstars in Monday’s pivotal Game 4 matchup.

Lebron James (Lakers Small Forward): Over 5.5 Assists (-130)

King James is a prolific scorer, and this season, broke the NBA’s all-time scoring record. James has already cemented himself as a hall-of-famer based on that feat alone, but don’t forget that LBJ is also an incredible passer of the basketball. He loves to drive-and-dish, and with the way the Lakers are shooting at home, I predict Lebron will go over 5.5 assists in Game 4.

Draymond Green (Warriors Power Forward): Under 8.5 Points (-115)

Draymond Green is a player fans love to hate. His fiery attitude and in-your-face style of play has gotten him into trouble this postseason, but that fire is exactly what the Warriors need right now. Green is an excellent playmaker, averaging 7.6 assists per game, but with the Lakers putting in the extra effort to slow down Curry and Thompson, Draymond will see more scoring opportunities than he’s used to, but he’ll deliver in clutch time. I predict Draymond Green will go over 8.5 points on Monday. 

Warriors vs. Lakers Game 4 Prediction 

Take the Golden State Warriors to win Game 4. The Lakers have been excellent at home, but the Warriors know what it takes to win big games. Golden State will even up the series 2-2, and head back to San Francisco with the wind at their backs. The Warriors are relying heavily on the 3-ball, and in Game 4, their shots are going to fall. If the shots aren’t dropping, the Warriors will be in serious trouble, as points in the paint are hard to come by with Anthony Davis lurking down low, but Golden State is going to put on a long-range clinic, which will lead to their Game 4 victory.
