Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers: Conference Semifinal Game 6 Prediction, Player Props, & Betting Tips
By Sam Batz
The NBA Playoffs are nearing the end of the Conference Semifinals, and on Friday, May 12th, the Golden State Warriors will look to even the series against the Los Angeles Lakers in a crucial Game 6 showdown (7:00 PM PST, ESPN). The Lakers have a 3-2 series lead over Golden State, and after losing Game 5 on the road, LA returns home for Game 6, where they are undefeated in the playoffs. The Warriors looked like themselves in Game 5 at home. They shot the ball well (51.1% from the Field) and played vintage Golden State defense, giving up just 106 points to LA. Game 6 is shaping up to be an instant classic, as two storied franchises, with some of the best players in the league, gear up to go head-to-head. I certainly wouldn’t want to miss this one!
The Golden State Warriors (+2.5; ML +115)
The Golden State Warriors are 6-6 in the playoffs, a less than remarkable record, but with their Game 5 win on Wednesday, they staved off elimination, and survive to fight another day. However the Warriors are not out of the woods just yet, and on Friday, they must do it all again and this time, they’ll be in hostile territory. The Lakers are 5-0 at home in the postseason, and the Warriors are 2-4 on the road, putting Golden State at a clear disadvantage. But the Warriors have a secret weapon, and his name is Steph Curry. This laser-eyed, long-range assassin is averaging 30.3 points, 6.2 assists, and 5.1 rebounds, and he will be the key to a Warriors victory in Game 6.
The Los Angeles Lakers (-2.5; ML -140)
The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to make history as the first play-in team to ever reach the Conference Finals. Up 3-2 against the Warriors, LA has a 72% chance of advancing into the next round, and according to FiveThirtyEight, they have a 57% chance to get it done on Friday. With a 2.5-point spread, it’s likely going to be a back-and-forth thriller of a game, but the Lakers have some clutch players that can turn the tide in their favor. The obvious choice is Lebron James, who is averaging 22.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 5.0 assists, as King James has an immense amount of playoff experience, and will be expected to lead his team through an arduous Game 6 battlefield. But Lebron will need help, which means the Lakers bench has to put together a solid performance in order to see themselves through to the next round.

Warriors vs. Lakers: Bold Player Prop
Anthony Davis (Lakers Power Forward): Over 13.5 Rebounds (-140)
Anthony Davis took a shot to the face in Game 5 and is not a “game time decision” for Friday’s matchup. But do not fret, as it has been reported that AD is probable to play in Game 6. This is great news for the Lakers, who certainly need their big 6’ 10” Power Forward on the floor as much as possible if they want to win. From his scoring ability to his rim protection, AD’s presence is invaluable, and he’s been a major part of the Lakers success in this series. I predict AD will go over 13.5 rebounds in Game 6.
Warriors vs. Lakers Game 6 Prediction
Take the LA Lakers to win a tightly contested Game 6. Golden State will be sent home packing, but not after putting in an applaudable effort. The Warriors are clearly one of the greatest teams in the past decade, but their time in the sun will come to an end on Friday. Their reliance on the 3-ball is going to come back to bite them in Game 6, and the Lakers tenacious defense is going to force the turnover prone Warriors to give the ball away. Lebron James said he wanted to win one more ring in LA, and after Friday night, The King will be one-step closer to achieving his goal.
Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers Moneyline (-140)
