Embiid’s Knee Keeps Superstar Sidelined
The 76ers will face the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, but with Joel Embiid out because of a knee injury, the Sixers are struggling. Philadelphia is coming off back-to-back losses, one with Embiid, and the other without. The Sixers are 3rd in the East, but Embiid has been such a key component to their success, that without him the Sixers are a different team. The Warriors are certainly hoping Joel Embiid remains out, as Golden State is looking to end a 2-game skid and get their season back on track. Golden State is coming off an absolute thriller against the Lakers, but fell short, losing 144-145 to LA is double-overtime.
Without Embiid’s status up in the air, this is a tough call. Monitor the big man’s status, and if he plays take the 76ers. Otherwise, I like the Over. The Warriors are on a scoring streak, and while they’ve lost 7 of their last 10, Golden State has scored 130+ points in 3-consecutive games. Philadelphia averages 119.5 points per game on the season, and scored 120+ in 5 of their last 7. The over is looking strong, especially if Embiid does play, as the reigning MVP is leading the NBA with 36.0 points per game, scoring at least 30 points in 22-straight games, including a 70-point performance against the Spurs last Monday. Both the Warriors and Sixers hit the over in 60% of their games, and it’s looking like a strong bet once again.
So for our 76ers vs. Warriors expert pick, take the Over on Tuesday.
