Embiid Sparks Sixers Streak

The 76ers hit the road to face the Orlando Magic tomorrow. The Sixers are 26-13 overall, putting them in 3rd place in the East. Orlando had a hot start, but they’ve fallen to 8th in the East with a 22-19 record. The Magic are floundering after winning just 3 of their last 10, while the Sixers are streaking, thanks to the return of Joel Embiid. Embiid is leading the NBA with 35.1 points per game, and is coming off back-to-back 41 point performances. The Sixers are 3-7 without Embiid, but 23-6 with the reigning MVP on the court. 

I like the 76ers in this one. Embiid is a dominant force, and the Magic don’t have anyone who can stop him. In fact, Orlando is without one of their best scorers, Franz Wagner, who averages 20.9 points per game but is nursing an ankle injury. Without Wagner, it’ll be up to Paolo Banchero to lead the Magic, but Embiid is a force on defense as well, recording 1.9 blocks per game, and will keep Banchero in check. The 76ers are truly one of the best teams in the NBA, and the Magic can’t match them.
