Were officially on to the month of June and inching toward the second round of the 2021 nba playoffs.

The Portland trailblazers are headed back to the Rocky Mountains to face the Nuggets in the mile high city of Denver.

The nuggets took game 3, the first of two in Portland, putting the pressure on the trailblazers for game 4. The blazers responded, beating Denver by 20 points and holding them to 95 for the entire game after a dominant third quarter performance. If you watched the game, nikola jokic was completely off target from the opening tip. He started out 1 for 7 from the floor and was air balling three point attempts and just not looking like his usual self. This guy is going to be the 2021 mvp and you could tell his head was not in the game.

He finished with only 16 points after averaging 37 through the first three of the series. He’ll have to rebound back home on Tuesday if the nuggets will have any chance of winning. He’s the anchor of their offense and with out Jamal Murray on the floor, they don’t have any back court players to rely on for jump shots. Facundo campazzo has been playing excellent but he is nottt a shooter!

It’s not all on jokic though. Michael porter, who has been the teams’ second leader scorer, only took 3 total shots in 22 minutes on the court which was odd to say the least.

The blazers got huge contributions from their supporting cast. Dame lillard only had 10 points in the win, and focused on distributing the ball to Powell and cj McCollum who combined for 50 of Portland’s points.

It was also an impressive performance in the paint by nurkic, who was playing bully ball against jokic all game, pushing him around.

Hopefully, the joker simply had an off night, and there’s not a deeper issue bothering him. I would think he will be his usual self thesday night back on his home turf and put up the usual 30+ points.

The trends between these two teams have the blazers covering 6 of the last 8 meetings. With the current blazers vs nuggets odds making Denver a one and a half point favorite, this somewhat nullifies the spread if you want to bet Denver, because the money line is cheaply priced at -115. The total for the game is currently sitting at 226.

Game Prediction and Picks
This seems like a trap to me. I see 88% of the money and just slightly less of total bets, on Denver money line and Denver Nuggets spread! It hasn’t budged from -1.5 since it opened so this is a big red flag for me.

Portland’s defense is sub par, but I don’t think Denver has the offense to keep up with the blazers over this whole series. The nuggets and blazers injury report still has Denver forward will barton, questionable for this game after already missing the first four. He’s primarily a defender and would help immensely on that side of the ball, but he’s not a great 2 way player.

Now for my official nuggets vs blazers prediction. I think the nuggets play better much better than they did in game 4, but I still think they will fall short here at home against the blazers. I fully expect jokic to have a better performance than Saturday but I don’t think it’ll be enough. The blazers look like they found something at home last game. If dame only needs to put up 10 and they win easily…that is a big statement being made!

I’m going with the blazers and the points. I am going to wait to see this spread his +2 before I lock it in, or I will buy the extra half point before tip off.

I also really love the over, 226, as we should see a much stronger performance out of the nuggets offense. The over has hit in 4 of the last 5 meetings between these 2 in the city of Denver.
