Defensive Battle in Motown
It has not been a great season for the Pistons but they do have things to be happy about. The Pistons snapped an eight-game losing streak by ending the Celtics’ nine-game win streak before the All-Star break. They also had their young players show out in the Rising Stars Game as Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart played well while Cade Cunningham won MVP.
The Cavaliers are also coming off of a successful All-Star break that did take place in Cleveland. They had two All-Stars in Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen that have led them to a 35-23 record and the four spot in the East.
I think this is a perfect recipe for a low-scoring game. The Cavs are the best defensive team in the NBA when it comes to points allowed and the Pistons are a horrible defensive team that plays at the league’s 29th ranked pace.
The Cavs should dominate this game. With them only being 2.5 games out of first, look for them to turn it on over this year’s homestretch. The Cavs killed the Pistons once this year and lost to them the other time. Expect the Cavs to come for some revenge.
