Clippers Hit a Three Game Skid
The NBA’s In-Season Tournament continues on Friday with a West Group B matchup between the LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks. LA is 3-4 on the season, and after starting strong with a 3-1 record, the Clippers have fallen off with 3-straight losses. LA has failed to score 100+ points in back-to-back games, and all 3 losses came on the road.
LA will have a hard time turning things around in their first In-Season Tournament game, as they’re facing the 6-2 Mavericks who are looking strong. Dallas is coming off their 2nd loss of the season, but Luka Doncic is playing lights out basketball. Doncic is almost averaging a triple-double with 31.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game, and has scored 30+ in 5 of 7 games for the Mavs. Combined with Kyrie Irving’s 20.3 points and 7.3 assists, Dallas has been tough to beat.
The Clippers are loaded with talent, but the addition of 10x All-Star James Harden hasn’t resulted in wins, as LA’s superstars are still figuring out how to play together. The Clippers are 0-4 in away games, and are unlikely to get their first road win against the Dallas Mavericks, who are the Western Confernce’s leading scorers with 120.1 points per game.
