Boston Gets Back on Track

The Boston Celtics will take on the Miami Heat tomorrow night in a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals. It’s the second meeting of the season between the two rivals, with Boston winning the first 119-111 at home. Now it’s the Heat’s turn to host, but after 3-straight losses my confidence in Miami has faded. The Celtics remain the best team in the NBA at 34-10, and after losing their first home game of the season last week, Boston has won back-to-back road games.

Take the Boston Celtics in this one. The odds have Boston as a 5.5 point favorite, which they will cover. The Celtics have only been underdogs in 2 out of their 44 games, and the slumping Miami Heat won’t change that. The Heat are 0-4 as underdogs at home, and in their last 5 games, Miami averaged just 98.4 points. In comparison, the Celtics averaged 111.4 points, while allowing 102.6 points per game, over their last 5. Terry Rozier could make his debut with Miami tomorrow night, which will certainly help the Heat, but the 29-year old point guard is questionable to play, meanwhile the Celtics are at full strength.

So for our Celtics vs. Heat expert pick, take the Boston Celtics to Cover (-5.5) on Thursday.
