Boston Celtics Top NBA Power Rankings

The Boston Celtics will take on the Utah Jazz! Odds are pending for this matchup, but the Celtics will undoubtedly be the favorites, while the Jazz are certain to be the dogs. Boston is the best team in the league in terms of record, but the Celtics also rank as the top team on ESPN’s latest NBA power rankings. Boston has earned that top spot by playing disciplined defense, allowing just 110.8 points per game, and fast paced offense, scoring 120+ points in over 50% of their games. The Jazz on the other hand come in at 22nd on ESPN’s NBA power rankings, and at 16-19 find themselves in 12th place in the West. 

I’m going with the Boston Celtics in this one. It would take a monumental effort for the Jazz to upset Boston. Utah is 4-13 as underdogs on the road this season, while the Celtics are a perfect 16-0 at home. Boston was already a title contender, but after adding Kristaps Porzingis this offseason, the Celtics have somehow reached an even higher level of play. Porzingis has had a huge impact on Boston, averaging 20.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. He scored 30+ points in 2 of the last 3 games, and tomorrow against Utah’s generous defense, Porzingis will look to have another impressive performance.
