Blazers Struggle Down The Stretch
The Portland Trail Blazers are 3-8 after losing 5-straight games. Portland will host the 6-6 LA Lakers tomorrow for group stage action in the In-Season Tournament, but while the Lakers find their stride with King James at the helm, injuries and inexperience have hindered the Blazers. LA won 3 of their last 4, while Portland hasn’t won a game since November 3rd. The Lakers actually played Portland last week and beat them 116-110. The Blazers are dealing with several key injuries which have brought the offense to a halt. Portland is last in scoring, averaging 104.7 points per game, the fewest in the NBA. It’s tough to win when you can’t score.
Take the LA Lakers in this one. Portland is notorious for giving up big games to superstars, and LA has two of the biggest names in basketball. Lebron James averages 28.9 points per game against the Blazers, and on Sunday, Anthony Davis recorded 30 points and 13 rebounds against Portland. Between Lebron and AD, the Trail Blazers will have their hands full defensively, and Portland doesn’t have anyone who can match LA’s offensive production.
