Matchup: Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets
The two best teams in the West are gearing up to go head-to-head for a game that could determine the winner of the Western Conference. As of right now these teams are neck-and-neck at 54-24 (69.2%), and with just four games left on their regular season schedules, neither side will be keen to drop a game. These two sides have been in lockstep all year, jostling for position, and working hard to gain a commanding lead of the conference. But neither team was ever able to gain much traction, and in their fourth and final matchup of the season, they will enter the contest on equal footing. I’m of course talking about the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets, two sides who took the Western Conference by storm, but offered each other intense competition.

Timberwolves vs. Nuggets Matchup History
- Total Regular Season Games: 144
- Minnesota Timberwolves: 56 wins
- Denver Nuggets: 88 wins
Wednesday’s battle for the West will mark the 145th regular season matchup between the Timberwolves and Nuggets since the series began 35 years ago in 1989. Denver leads the series with 88 wins to Minnesota’s 56, but this season the Timberwolves have the advantage, winning 2 of their 3 matchups against the reigning champion Nuggets. Minnesota is averaging 111.0 points per game and 100.7 points against Denver, and the T-Wolves could take a 3-1 lead over the favored Nuggets with a win on Wednesday. But beating Denver at home is no easy task, and historically Minnesota has struggled against the Nuggets on the road, winning just 3 of their last 10 visits to the Mile High City.
Timberwolves vs. Nuggets Prediction
The Timberwolves are a tough customer but regardless of their shared records, the Nuggets remain the top-dogs in the West. I’m going with the Denver Nuggets to win and cover against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. Home court advantage has been a huge asset for the Nuggets and they’ll lean into that advantage against Minnesota. The Timberwolves beat Denver at home once already but they won’t do it again, especially with the conference title on the line. It’ll be a hard fought low scoring game, so take the under as well, but in the end the Nuggets will prevail thanks to their experience in high pressure games. Minnesota’s top-ranked defense will give Denver some trouble, but if the Nuggets can limit the turnovers, force Anthony Edwards to give up the ball, and allow Nikola Jokic to facilitate the offense, Denver will walk away with the win.

- O/U Pick: Under (213.5)
If you take the Under on 213.5 total points (-110): You risk $110 to win $100, for a total payout of $210, if the Timberwolves and Nuggets combine for less than 214 points.
