The Number 13-ranked LSU Tigers hit the road tonight looking to bounce back from a rare defeat as they face a struggling Alabama team that’s lost three games in a row and has fallen out of the AP Top 25.
LSU’s loss to Arkansas at home as a 6-point favorite on Saturday was just the second defeat of the season for the Tigers, who saw their home winning streak at 13. The only other blemish on LSU’s 15-2 record came against Auburn back on December 29.
The Tigers have won 15 out of 17 games due to their ferocious defense that ranks Number 3 in the country in points allowed per game and Number 1 in the country in field goal percentage.
LSU is also one of the better rebounding teams in the country and their also Number 1 in the nation in steals per game and that’s where they’ll have a huge edge tonight as Bama ranks 272nd in the country in defensive rebounding and turns the ball over 13 times per game on average.
With LSU coming off a loss, we expect them to turn it up a notch even more on the defensive end. After their first loss of the season, the Tigers came out and beat Kentucky and held the Wildcats in their season-low for points scored and we think we’ll see a similar effort tonight.
LSU is 12-3 overall to the under this season, and in the two games they were underdogs this season both games went under by a combined 27 points to the pointspread.
