The Suns and the Nets are going to be taking each other on here in a game between two teams that have dealt with a lot of turmoil this week. Especially the Nets. The Nets just shipped away Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks in a blockbuster deal after they could not reach an agreement on a contract with them. The Nets got back some quality players and are reportedly not done as they will try to flip Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney Smith for some more players. Despite all this the Nets are 32-20 on the season. They are missing Kevin Durant but he should be back soon. There is some worry that he may demand a trade but I don’t see that happening. The Nets have just been treading water with Durant out of the lineup as they are 5-5 in their last ten games but this will be the first game without Irving in the lineup.
The Suns were involved in the trade talks for Kyrie Irving but ultimately they were outbid by the Mavericks. The Suns started off the year like many thought they would, towards the top of the West but they hit a huge rough patch once Devin Booker and Chris Paul got injured. They are now 29-26 on the season and fifth in the West though as over the last ten games they have found themselves. They have won two in a row and eight of their last ten games. Plus, Devin Booker is supposed to return this week. This team should make their way into the top four of the West again.
I like the Suns in this one. Booker is targeting a return in this game and we don’t even know what this Nets are going to look like with Durant out and the two players they received for Kyrie possibly being traded. The Suns have also covered in eight of their last ten games. They are one of the most profitable teams in the NBA right now while the Nets are in disarray at the moment. The Nets and the Suns are going to have a good game here but the Suns are just playing too well right now and are getting their superstar back in this one. So take the Suns spread.
