A Heavyweight Matchup in the West
The 7-1 Denver Nuggets will host the 6-2 Golden State Warriors tomorrow night. It’s a great matchup between two Western Conference heavyweights, and a potential Western Conference finals preview. The Nuggets are favored by 3.5 points, and against the spread this season, Denver is 5-3. The Warriors are a risky pick in this one. They are 4-4 against the spread, and last year against the Nuggets, Golden State went 0-3.
I like the Denver Nuggets here. The reigning champs remain unbeaten in Ball Arena (5-0), averaging 122.2 points per game, and are 4-1 against the spread at home. The Warriors struggled mightily on the road last season, but are a surprising 5-1 in away games thus far, averaging 120.5 points per game. Golden State won’t be blown out, especially with Denver’s starting point guard Jamal Murray out with a hamstring injury, yet Denver remains the favorite because of their homecourt dominance, excellent team chemistry, and Nikola Jokic’s brilliance.
So for our Warriors vs. Nuggets expert pick, take the Denver Nuggets Moneyline (-166) on Wednesday.
