The Celtics will be taking on the Pacers in this game. This is a big Eastern Conference matchup for the Celtics as they try to hold off the streaking Bucks. The Celtics are now 42-17 on the season and they own the best record in the NBA. They are just half a game up on the Bucks who have now won 12 games in a row. Boston has owned the best record in the NBA for the majority of the season but they have now lost Jaylen Brown to a facial fracture for a while and Jayson Tatum must look to keep the Celtics afloat. They have won seven of their last ten games going into this one and before the All Star break they were coming off of a win against the Pistons. Jayson Tatum is coming off of a big game as he won All Star Game MVP putting up 55 points in Team Giannis’ win. He is averaging 30.6 points and 8.6 rebounds this season. He is a top five MVP candidate and should keep this team afloat. 

The Pacers limped into the All Star break. They went just 2-8 in the last ten games before the break. They are now 26-34 on the season and they sit in 12th in the Eastern Conference. They are now 2.5 games back of the Play In tournament and a full seven games back of the coveted sixth seed that avoids the Play In. At one point they were 23-18 on the season and it looked like they were going to make the playoffs. Then disaster struck as their franchise player Tyrese Haliburton, who averages 19.9 points and 10.1 assists on the season, suffered an injury and the team has struggled since then as they are 3-16 since the win that moved them to 23-18 on the season. 

I love the Pacers in this one. In the last three matchups between these two teams the Pacers have won two of them outright. The other matchup ended in a five point Boston win. As a matter of fact, in the last ten games between the Celtics and the Pacers the Celtics have only covered this spread once. Both of these teams are well rested and even though I think Boston wins I think the Pacers keep it close. They have Haliburton back in the lineup and the Celtics are missing Jaylen Brown here. I think the Pacers keep this close.
