PHOENIX SUNS AT MIAMI HEAT – 3/3/16 NBA PICK, ODDS, AND PREDICTION

The Phoenix Suns have quite obviously had a miserable season. And there is very little they are going to be able to do to salvage something out of it. Meanwhile, when they face off against the Miami Heat, they will be encountering a team with a lot of incentive and intensity. This game, which will be held at the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami, is set to begin at 7:35 PM ET, and BetAnySports customers don’t have to stop their wagering at the opening tip. They can continue to challenge the basketball betting odds, in real time, through the state-of-the-art software provided by Live Betting Extra.

Miami has won five out of its last seven games, covering six of them, and bringing their record to 34-26 straight-up and 32-27-1 ATS. The Heat is currently in the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference, two games behind the Boston Celtics and two games ahead of the Atlanta Hawks. But the East is very tight right now; the two teams tied for the #9 spot – the Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls – are just four games behind the Heat.

Phoenix is 15-45 straight-up and 23-37 against the basketball pointspread. They are 14th in the West, four games ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers. Only two teams – the Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers – have worst records. The Suns have been absolutely awful on the road, as they have gone 4-24 straight-up and 7-21 against the spread.

In the basketball betting odds posted on this game by the BetAnySports, the Heat are double-digit favorites:

Miami Heat -13.5

Phoenix Suns +13.5

Over 211.5 points -110

Under 211.5 points -110

Of course, the Heat continues to move ahead without power forward Chris Bosh, who has a blood clot in his left leg. That will undoubtedly have a deleterious effect if and when Miami is playing in the post-season. But the addition of Joe Johnson has so far proven to be helpful. They acquired Johnson last weekend after his contract was bought out by the Brooklyn Nets.

Johnson went into the starting lineup immediately, and that is something he required, since he had started in his last 1020 NBA appearances before his departure from Brooklyn. He had 12 points in 30 minutes in his initial game against the Knicks, and then played a huge role in the Heat’s 129-111 romp over the Bulls on Tuesday. The seven-time All-Star made ten of 13 attempts for 24 points and added five rebounds.

BetAnySports patrons have witnessed the series of injuries that have set the Suns back, most importantly to the starting backcourt of Brandon Knight and Eric Bledsoe. Some observers like to point to their trade deadline deal last season, which sent Goran Dragic to the Heat – as the turning point in sending them downward. And that might be the case, as then-coach Jeff Hornacek had found a successful combination between Dragic and Bledsoe in a “two-point guard” lineup. But keeping Dragic was not practical, as he wanted out of Phoenix in a big way. And now Hornacek, who was considered somewhat sage as he had brought the Suns back to respectability, is out of a job, replaced by Earl Watson, who has really just perpetuated the long losing run this team has had. They have now lost 29 of their last 32 games.
