NBA PREVIEW AND ODDS – MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES AT LA CLIPPERS

The Memphis Grizzlies are fading fast, while the Los Angeles Clippers are going in a different direction. These two teams may find themselves facing each other in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. That is still to be decided, and the game they play against each other on Tuesday night may go a long way toward making that determination. It will start at 10:35 PM ET at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and even after the opening tip off, BetAnySports customers will have the opportunity to challenge the NBA odds in real time, while the game is in progress, using the state-of-the-art software available through Live Betting Extra.

The Clippers are playing like a team that doesn’t want to lose any momentum whatsoever going into the post-season. They have won nine of their last 10 games, including five in a row, and they have covered seven out of their last nine. Currently they have a record of 52-28 straight-up and 39-38-3 against the basketball pointspread. Memphis is struggling, as could be expected in light of the absence of point guard Mike Conley (Achilles injury) and center Marc Gasol (broken foot). They have lost eight of their last nine games, but still, interestingly enough, they are only a half-game behind Portland, and if they get into fifth position they will face the Clippers on the weekend. The other side of the coin is that the Grizzlies, the sixth-place team in the West, is only a half-game up on seventh-place Dallas, and if they slip to that position, they will have to play San Antonio in the first round.

The Grizzlies have a date with the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, and that game has added significance in that the Warriors will be going after the NBA record for most regular-season wins, as they chase their 73rd. The Grizzlies gave Golden State life-and-death on Saturday, holding a double-digit lead halfway through the fourth quarter but losing it in a 100-99 decision.

In the NBA odds that have been posted on this game by the people at BetAnySports, the Clippers are favored:

Los Angeles Clippers -8

Memphis Grizzlies +8

Over 198.5 points -110

Under 198.5 points -110

One of the people who has been is thorn in the Clippers’ side is Zach Randolph, who achieved his first triple-double on March 19 against the Clippers, with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. In the two meetings, he has scored 54 points, although his Memphis teammates have not done all that well from long-range, getting only six out of their 26 shots.

But the Grizzlies have a recent history of doing very well against this Los Angeles team, especially when it comes to getting the money. They have covered 12 out of the last 14 encounters, including the last six that were held at the Staples Center.

BetAnySports patrons can look forward to Blake Griffin trying to get his game in order in time for the playoffs. Griffin, who has sat out a lot of this season with injuries and also a suspension, had 17 points and 11 rebounds on Sunday as the Clippers snapped Dallas’ six-game winning streak with a 98-91 win at home. And they also have a hot hand from three-point range, as Jamal Crawford has hit eight out of his 17 shots from that distance over the last two games. Can Memphis keep him quiet? Well, they have in the two meetings, holding him to just 25% on triples.

With the key players out, including defensive stopper Tony Allen, other people at had to step up to the plate for the Grizzlies, and one of them is Matt Barnes, who has averaged 18.8 points over the last four games. With victory at Oakland unlikely tomorrow, this game would be critical for the Memphis cause, but keep in mind that the Clippers are 19-9 ATS in revenge situations.
