The Detroit Pistons would seem to have an opportunity to make things tighter in their Eastern Conference playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but they better really get their act together when it comes to defending the perimeter. The Pistons allowed the Cavaliers to hit 20 three-pointers in Wednesday night’s Game 2, and that resulted in a 107-90 Cleveland win. How they are going to get this accomplished, who knows. But they are being attacked on other fronts as they head into what is critical Game 3, which starts at 7:05 PM ET at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The Pistons had better figure out a way to avoid getting hurt by the free-throw shooting of Andre Drummond, who made the All-Star team this season and is without question the premier rebounder in the NBA, but simply can’t hit from the charity stripe. No one has ever had a worse season then him from that standpoint, as he has been only 35.5% accurate. And Cleveland has taken to intentionally fouling him as it strategically suits them. Drummond is only 5-18 from the line into games, and there is no reason the Cavaliers would not continue to “hack” him.
