GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS VS. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER – 5/24/16 NBA PICK AND ODDS
It would seem that whatever could go wrong DID go wrong for the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of their Western Conference championship series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They didn’t shoot well, they didn’t rebound all that well, and one of their star players almost got himself suspended. On top of all that, they didn’t defend well either, and a lot of that is going to have to change if they are going to even up this series. Game 4 begins at 8:35 PM ET at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, and those customers who are signed up with BetAnySports will have a great chance to place wagers against the NBA playoff odds in real time through the mechanism known as Live Betting Ultra.
Steph Curry did not have his best night on Sunday, hitting just seven out of 17 shots in scoring 24 points. But he was not alone; Klay Thompson was only 2-8 from beyond the three-point arc, and Draymond Green hit only one out of his nine attempts from the floor, gathering up only four rebounds and then getting flagged for a flagrant foul as he kicked Steven Adams in the groin. Fortunately, Green has not been suspended for this game.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma City got 10-19 shooting from Russell Westbrook and 10-15 from the floor out of Kevin Durant, with the superstars combining for 63 points. This team is 37-11 straight-up at home this season, and they have a great opportunity to take a commanding lead here. However, they are, obviously, going up against a team that went 73-9 during the regular season and has not lost back-to-back games yet.
In the NBA playoff odds posted on this game by the folks over at BetAnySports, Golden State is laying a very small number as the visitor:
Golden State Warriors -1.5
Oklahoma City Thunder +1.5
Over 222 points -110
Under 222 points -110
There is no way around the fact that Westbrook is having a damn good series, despite the fact that he is still just over 40% from the field. He has done the job on the boards for the most part, and he has 36 assists against only 10 turnovers. Westbrook is also averaging 3.7 steals over these three games. The Thunder will have to continue shooting well from mid-range and attacking the basket, since they aren’t doing all that well from three-point territory. Oklahoma City has hit only 32.3% of its attempts from downtown over the last six meetings with the Warriors.
Thompson will have to get going for Golden State, as he is just 39% overall and 29% from three-point range. BetAnySports patrons may be a little disappointed with Curry’s ball handling, as he has handed out only 13 assists, yet turned the ball over 11 times. Enes Kanter of the Thunder had twelve rebounds in 18 minutes in Game 3, and six of them came on the offensive end. On a percentage basis, he was the best offensive rebounder in the NBA this season, and on Sunday he pulled down 41% of all available chances. That is phenomenal. And that is one potential weakness for the Warriors going forward, especially if Steve Kerr makes the decision to play a little “small ball” by inserting Andre Iguodala into the starting lineup in place of Andrew Bogut.
There is still some faith in the Warriors out there, as they are -130 favorites to win this series at BetAnySports, where you can get a great free play bonus, not to mention reduced juice wagering on your NBA playoff action.
