New York Yankees Overview:
The surge recently put up by the New York Yankees shows just how skilled they are in the second half of the season. They’ve gone 9-1 through their last ten games before the series with the Braves. Now, they look to take down a titan of the NL East, hopefully in spectacular style. A win to close the series over the Braves proves that the Yankees have what it takes to win games against great teams.
They’ll rely on Andrew Heaney to start the game on the mound for them on Tuesday night. Heaney is 8-8 as a starter but has a poor ERA of 5.51. Although he has a .500 record as a starter, it’s hard to put trust in that ERA. He did score a big win over the Boston Red Sox so hopefully, he can repeat that performance.
Atlanta Braves Overview:
The Atlanta Braves have been incredible leading into the series against the New York Yankees. In fact, they’ve had three straight sweeps before facing the Yankees. The Washington Nationals, Florida Marlins, and Baltimore Orioles never stood a chance against the Braves. This makes their matchup against the Yankees pretty entertaining.
They’ll be starting one of their better pitchers to close this series out. The 12-4 as a starter Charlie Morton will do what he can against one of the best batting teams in baseball. Morton should handle himself just fine with his 3.41 ERA, especially compared to Heaney’s 5.51. If Morton can do just enough to stave off the Yankees batters, the Braves should be able to take this one.
