Mariners Fall 

The Yankees have definitely had better weeks than their last week as in their last 10 games they have only won five of them and had a brutal series against the New York Mets in which they were swept in dominant fashion. The Battle of New York was a highly anticipated showdown and the Yankees had won the last couple series between the two teams but a lack of scoring was what prevented the Yanks from winning a game. They were able to bounce back quickly with three straight wins against the Kansas City Royals, including an 11-5 thrashing. 

The Mariners entered tonight’s game the coldest they’ve been in awhile. They went into the All Star break on a 14 game winning streak, but have lost six of their last ten games played since the break. They do have the better of the pitching matchup tonight as the Yanks are sending out Domingo German for his third start of the year, and the hope is that he will improve on his 8.22 ERA.
