Yankees Host Rays For AL East Showdown

The Tampa Bay Rays are having a great season, but they stumbled in July, posting a 7-16 record for the month. The Rays went 4-6 in their last 10, scoring 3.6 runs and giving up 5.0 runs per game to their opponents. 

The New York Yankees are last in the AL East, 9.0 games behind Tampa Bay. The Yankees are 3-4 against the Rays on the season, but are 2-2 against them at home, where New York has a 57.14% win-rate. The Yankees went 5-5  in their last 10, averaging 3.9 runs scored, but gave up 4.6 runs per game to the opposition.     

I like the Yankees in this one. New York will look to bounce back after a tough 9-3 loss against the Orioles on Sunday, where the Yankees gave up 7 runs in the 1st and never recovered. But Aaron Judge did not play Sunday, and he is expected to play Tuesday, where he will add some much needed firepower from the plate. The Rays are a great team, but they aren’t much of a threat on the road, and the Yankees will protect their home field.
