Worst Teams in Baseball Collide

Tonight we will have the final game four of a series between, debatably, the two worst teams in the MLB. Aside from the Kansas City Royals, the two teams in this series, the Cincinnati Reds and the Washington Nationals, have the two worst winning percentages in the MLB. It’s not often that either one of these teams enter as favorites, but naturally one had to be, and the Reds are in this game as they are the home team. Surprisingly, however, the Reds have won six of their last ten games, and the Nationals have won five of their last ten games, which, although that does not sound too impressive, is actually one of their better 10 game stretches for both of these organizations this year.

Scheduled to start for the Washington Nationals will be lefty Patrick Corbin, who to put it quite bluntly, has been having a horrible season. Corbin, however, has only had one year in which he’s pitched an ERA of sub 4.00. This is his 9th season in the MLB and his stat line is very underwhelming as he has a 6.96 ERA with a 1-8 record. He got his first win of the season just a week ago against the Rockies. There has been plenty of speculation as to whether or not the Nationals would trade star Juan Soto, but those were quickly put to rest as a team general manager stated that they have no plans of getting rid of their young superstar. Neither of these teams rank well statistically behind the plate, but then again, they don’t rank well statistically on the mound either. So this has the making of a shoot out.

For our expert Cincinnati Reds versus Washington Nationals prediction take the over nine runs.
