WC Spot in Sight 

The Philadelphia Phillies are going all in trying to claim a wild card spot, and have been on a tear this last month. Going into this month, the Philadelphia Phillies were eight plus games out of a wild card spot, but after going eight and two in their last ten games they are now within 4.5 games of the playoffs. If they want to continue this success and grab a playoff spot, they need to keep the winning going as the Milwaukee Brewers, who have fallen all the way down to 7th place, have gone 1-9 in their last 10 and will eventually turn that around. Lucky for them, they do have a favorable matchup, as they now are set to play the nationals in five games, including a double header. 

 

The Nationals are currently in dead last in the National League East Division and are on a three game losing streak. Their season definitely has not gone according to plan and it has gotten so bad that there was speculation that they might be trading superstar Juan Soto at one point. This is great news for the Phillies, who need a pile up wins right now as they get a chance to tally up a good amount of wins against a slumping Nationals team, and then will follow that up. Going to play the Texas Rangers in a two game series, another team under .500. The Phillies will have Zack Wheeler on the mound for them, who has been their best pitcher this season with a 5-3 win-loss record and ERA of 2.84.
