Verlander To the Rescue

Tonight will be the second series between the Seattle Mariners and the Houston Astros since the All Star break. In the first three-game series just a week ago, between these two teams, the Astros swept the Mariners pretty handily, winning the first game 5-2, the second game 3-1, and the third game 8-5. But since that series.The Mariners have won their previous two games, and the Astros have lost their last two. The Astros are coming off an ugly series against the Oakland A’s that they will quickly hope to rebound from. In the last series, when the Astros played the Mariners, they opened up every game as nearly two to one favorite, but their recent outing of losses has lowered their favoritism to only -178. Houston will be sending out their ace Justin Verlander to the mound tonight, who has a win loss record of 13-3 along with an ERA of 1.86. He has been one of the top five pitchers in the MLB this season and will continue to show to us that this man still has plenty left in the tank despite being in year 16. The Mariners will continue to have their young star, Julio Rodriguez, who homered in his first game back from injury. But they’re hot bats will be cold tonight against Verlander.
