Two worst teams in the NL face off

The Nationals just traded the face of their franchise away in Juan Soto as they fully committed to a rebuild. They have now lost five games in a row and are 36-74 on the season. They are the worst team in baseball by 5.5 games. 

The Cubs are 43-64 on the season. They have lost seven of their last ten games. The Pirates and Reds have passed them in the division and they now have the fourth worst record in baseball.

I love the Cubs in this one. They will be at home here with a much better pitcher on the mound. They will be facing Anibal Sanchez who has been horrendous this season with a 0-4 record and a 7.65 ERA on the season. The Cubs will trot out Keegan Thompson. Thompson has been Chicago’s best pitcher this season with a 8-5 record and a 3.85 ERA. The Nats are miles worse than everyone else this season and I expect that to continue on the road against a good pitcher.
