Now let’s get to our Tampa Bay Rays vs Miami Marlins prediction.
Marlins Drown
If I told you that at one point the Miami Marlins were within two games of wild card contention, many people would probably laugh at me. But that was the reality of the situation just 2 1/2 months ago when the Marlins capped off their eighth straight win. Since then it has been straight downhill as this team has plummeted all the way to 4th place in their division and a whopping 14 games out of the playoffs. There are now one of six teams in the National League to have a 0% chance of making the playoffs, so they are completely forced into looking towards next season. Tonight, the mines will be taking on the Tampa Bay Rays, who have been anything but irrelevant. The Rays have had an amazing month of August which has brought them Into the first wild card spot with a record of 70-57. On the mound for them tonight will be ace Shane Mcclanahan, who has a stellar ERA of 2.20 along with 182 strikeouts and an 11-5 record. The rookie left-hander made his first All Star game this season and has flashed major potential. His counterpart on the Marlins side will be Jesus Luzardo, who has had a respectable season of his own with an ERA of 3.34 in eight total games started.
