Two Division Leaders Go Head-To-Head

The NL West leading Los Angeles Dodgers are gearing up to take on the AL West leading Texas Rangers. It’s a rare matchup, but a mouthwatering prospect when you look at the numbers. From 1997 to 2021, the Dodgers and Rangers have only met 33 times, with LA leading the all-time series 20-13. They did not play last year, making Friday their first matchup in two years. The Rangers are leading the league in runs, hits, RBIs, batting average, and on-base percentage, but the Dodgers are not easily defeated, and Friday’s matchup will be must-watch baseball. 

Despite LA being the favorites, I like the Rangers in this one. Texas has been phenomenal in Arlington, winning 64.7% of their home games, while LA is a middling road team, winning 52% of their away games. The Rangers are 7-3 in their last 10, and are on a 6-game winning streak, which I expect to continue after facing the Dodgers.
