The twins currently have a 3.5 game cushion for the first spot in their division, but if they keep playing baseball at the level they are, that lead will disappear quickly. Not many people expected Minnesota to win this division or be atop it as long as they have been, and the team is starting to show signs of why, as they currently have lost three games in a row, including their last game against these same Texas Rangers. Last game’s recap was as such. Marcus Semien hit a tie breaking RBI triple in the eighth inning after earlier being part of back-to-back homers with Corey Seager for the first time, and the Texas Rangers beat the AL Central-leading Minnesota Twins 9-7 on Saturday. Siemens’ three-run homer in the fourth tied the game at 6, and Seager followed with a go-ahead shot that chased Twins starter Devin Smeltzer. That was two innings after a three-run homer by Kole Calhoun, another offseason addition for the Rangers. Although the Rangers have a worse record than the twins.And are currently in 3rd place in their division, because of the fact that they’ve already beaten the Twins twice, and are currently on a two game winning streak, is the reason why this team is favored. Expect the twins to bounce back, behind a strong pitching day from Dylan Bundy.
