Twins look to push win streak to five
The Twins have now won four games in a row to put some pressure on the Guardians, who sit atop the AL Central. They are 66-61 on the season and now 1.5 games back of the Guardians. They are coming off of a sweep of the Giants and a win over the Red Sox.
The Red Sox are coming off of a 12-4 loss to the Rays. They are slipping right now as they have lost seven of their last ten games and two in a row. It seems they’ve given up on this season. According to ESPN their playoff percentage has dropped all the way down to just 1.6%.
The Sox will have Michael Wacha on the mound here. Wacha has been the Red Sox’s best pitcher this season as he is 9-1 with a 2.53 ERA. He will face the Twins’ Joe Ryan. Ryan has been pretty good this season with a 10-6 record and a 3.65 ERA on the season. I know Wacha has been great this season but in two of his last four starts he has given up four runs. With the way the Twins are streaking and the Red Sox are slumping the Twins are the pick here.
